April 2022 Mom of the Month

BETH Z.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR FAMILY!

My husband, Kurtis, and I met the first week of college at ASU and have been together for almost 13 years! We have two kids, Lincoln (4 1/2) and Maggie (almost 2) and are expecting our third early October!

WHERE ARE YOU ORIGINALLY FROM?

I was born and raised in Bloomington, IL. I went to school in Arizona, and moved to Colorado a few weeks after graduation to start my career.

WHAT IS/WAS YOUR CAREER?

I’m currently a stay at home mom, but prior to my son being born I was a Strategic Sourcing Manager for a manufacturing company. I did my best to prevent all those supply chain issues that are currently in the news ;).

HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT FIT4MOM AND HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A MEMBER?

After I decided I wasn’t going to return to work after maternity leave I knew I was going to need “something” to help fill my days. Some quick internet searching led me to Fit4Mom. I attended my first Stroller Strides class in October of 2017, when my son Lincoln was 8 weeks old!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT FIT4MOM?

I love connecting with other moms from different backgrounds and different parenting styles in a judgement free zone. I’ve learned so much from the other mamas in the group and have made some lifelong friends.

WHAT HAS INSPIRED YOU THE MOST SINCE BEING A PART OF FIT4MOM?

Just how much moms can do! I’m constantly inspired by the way we all show up to do something for ourselves while juggling the million other things on our plates.

WHAT IS SOMETHING THAT HAS SURPRISED YOU ABOUT MOTHERHOOD?

How quickly kids change. It’s something everyone always tells you, but I never really believed it.

WHAT ARE 3 OF YOUR FAVORITE THINGS?

Cooking, wine (when I’m not growing babies) and spending time outside

WHAT IS YOUR PROUDEST MOMMY MOMENT SO FAR?

Watching my children be kind to others. It’s something we work on every day, but there’s nothing better than seeing it in action!

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE A NEW MOTHER?

Try to get out of the house every day! Even if it’s just a trip through the Starbucks drive thru. Leaving the house with a baby is intimidating, but the more you practice the easier it gets.

ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO ADD?

I’m so thankful for this village! I cannot imagine how different the past 4 1/2 years would be without Fit4Mom!
