Everything You've Been Wondering About FIT4MOM Classes

Broomfield, Lafayette, Westminster, and Louisville mamas — we get the same questions a lot, so let's just get them all out on the table.

If you've been eyeing our classes and scrolling through Instagram wondering "but what if my kid melts down mid-workout" or "do I actually have to be a runner for Run Club," you are so not alone. Every mom in our village asked some version of these questions before her first class. Here's the real, no-fluff rundown, mama to mama.

Stroller Based Programs

First things first: your first class is always free, so there's zero pressure here. Just show up and see what your village feels like. You technically don't even need to register ahead of time, but I'd love it if you did, because that way you'll know exactly where to meet us and what to expect before you're standing in a parking lot squinting at your phone.

On the day of, keep it simple. Bring water, a towel, a yoga mat or blanket, sunscreen, and shoes and clothes you can actually move in. For your littles, pack snacks, a toy or two, whatever's in your diaper bag anyway, and any stroller you've got. You do not need a fancy jogging stroller. As long as it's sturdy, won't tip, and your kiddo can be safely strapped in, we're good to go.

If you're newly postpartum, come whenever your doctor clears you, which is usually around your six week checkup. And if you're currently pregnant, keep coming! We love supporting active pregnancies as long as your physician has given the green light, and we'll modify anything that doesn't feel right as your body changes.

A few more things moms always ask: no, you don't need to be a runner. We warm up together, then power walk or jog between stations at whatever pace feels good that day. And once your baby can hold their head up, they can usually ride along in the jogger, though it's always smart to double check your stroller manufacturer's own guidelines.

And if your baby gets fussy mid-class, or you need to stop and nurse or change a diaper, please do. We build class around keeping kids engaged with songs and props, but babies are babies, and you're in good company. The one thing we do ask is that older kids stay in the stroller for the whole class, just for everyone's safety. Oh, and if the weather turns, pre-enrolling means you'll get an email with any last-minute location changes, or you can always check our schedule online.

Mom-Only Classes

Same deal here: your first Body Boost or Body Ignite class is free, and while you're welcome to just show up, pre-registering means you'll know exactly where to go and what to expect. The one difference with these classes is that they're moms-only, so kids sit this one out. It's your little pocket of time, just for you.

If you're pregnant, you can still join once your physician gives the okay, and we'll modify anything as needed along the way. And no, you don't need to already be in great shape. Our instructors coach you through what's right for your age and stage of motherhood, so you always move at your own pace. If the weather looks iffy, pre-enrolling gets you an email heads up, or you can check the schedule on our site anytime.

Run Club

I hear this one a lot: "But I haven't run since before I had my baby, or honestly, ever." That's exactly who Run Club is for. Our coaches will get you to your first mile, whatever that looks like for you, and it truly works for every level. It's also stroller friendly, so bring your kiddo along as long as they're safely secured for the run. Just grab your running shoes and water, and maybe a yoga mat or towel for the final stretch, and you're set.

Our Village

This is my favorite part to talk about, honestly, because it's the piece that goes beyond the workouts. Our Village is weekly playgroups for your kids, a monthly Moms' Night Out that's just for you, and Mommy and Me play dates throughout the month. We also show up for each other for showers, births, meal trains, and "Moms with a Mission" projects that give back to our North Metro Denver community.

And here's the thing a lot of moms don't realize: you do not have to be a FIT4MOM member to join the weekly playgroup. Every mom is welcome, and it's completely free. If you ever do need to step away from your membership, we just ask for 30 days' notice to cancel or place a hold, and you can find the full policy on our website.
