Meet our newest Body Well coach & Body Boost instructor!
FLORENCE B.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR FAMILY!
I have a wonderful husband Bryan and two lovely boys Arthur and Benjamin (DOB 2010 and 2012, respectively). We also have two pet goats, Coco and Midnight. We love to travel world-wide, explore cultures and try new foods. We are also fairly active and outdoor enthusiasts.
WHERE ARE YOU ORIGINALLY FROM?
I am originally from France. I moved out of France when I was 21 years old as I enrolled in an exchange study program.
WHAT IS/WAS YOUR CAREER?
I am a scientist by training with a Master and Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences. Shortly after my postdoctoral work, I shifted gears towards teaching sciences in a school setting. For about a decade, I have taught math and sciences in various educational settings. A couple of years ago, my husband motivated me to teach physical education. I thus obtained a teaching license in PE. And now, I am contemplating studying for a personal trainer/fitness coach license. Go where the winds takes you...
HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT FIT4MOM AND HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A MEMBER?
I found out about Fit4Mom on Indeed while searching for physical education jobs. I have been a member for about one month! ;-) I am happy to have found this community of awesome moms!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT FIT4MOM?
My favorite part about Fit4Mom is the community with the core interest of taking care of our bodies and minds.
WHAT HAS INSPIRED YOU THE MOST SINCE BEING A PART OF FIT4MOM?
I have been most inspired by the care, the smiles and the friendship connections I have already made.
WHAT IS SOMETHING THAT HAS SURPRISED YOU ABOUT MOTHERHOOD?
Motherhood...Ah, motherhood is a lot of work for our body and mind and it demands a lot of our energy...but it is for the beautiful result of educating caring, respectful, and mentally and physically strong kiddos...better persons than us.
WHAT ARE 3 OF YOUR FAVORITE THINGS?
Traveling, Oceans and Mountains, Dark chocolate
WHAT IS YOUR PROUDEST MOMMY MOMENT SO FAR?
My kiddos are young teens, and I am proud to enjoy life with them, e.g. we bikepack together across countries, we ski double-black runs together, we have meaningful scientific, life, or philosophical discussions.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE A NEW MOTHER?
One advice, that is easier to say than to put in practice, is to take care of yourself. A happy mommy makes for a happy baby. It goes along with "Happy wife, happy life" ;-) But if our small circle and ourselves can make us happy, we would be a better, wholesome person in return.
ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO ADD?
Thank you for the warm welcome! I look forward to teaching the Body Boost classes!
